How to Start a Small Group

A Church, Counselor, or individual can host and facilitate AVENUE groups, it’s simple to start. As a group facilitator, one has the awesome privilege to witness lives radically changed as members learn, grow and heal in a setting you’ve provided. Most group facilitators become involved with AVENUE for their own needs. Some attended a group before, yet some are encouraged to start a group to answer their own need for group support. Each person needs to weigh his or her ability to take on this role while going through their own healing work. If you are unsure of the answer to that, you are welcome to talk with an AVENUE alumni who can help you with your questions and concerns. Email us at Men Group Support and Women Group Support

TO GET SETUP FOLLOW THESE EASY STEPS

1. Buy your Leader’s Guide. It gives you all the basics to facilitate a small group. Even if you've never facilitated a small group, our Leader’s Guide or the full Kit, will walk you through the process of starting, promoting, running and
growing  your group, and providing immediate answers to questions. Our materials assist you with the practical
elements, as well as help you to create a safe haven where hurting individuals can heal. Take a closer look at our
     Leadership materials in our Bookstore.

2. Register your group. When you register your group with AVENUE, you can post it in our online directory. Click on        the "Register Your Group" tab above to fill in the short form.

3. Use the TOOLBOX. Be mentored by seasoned leaders who have run AVENUE groups for years. We have our             own private community network, so you can share questions, concerns and glean fresh ideas with other facilitators,             new and old.  The TOOLBOX is free of charge. It is accessible only to group leaders who have purchased the Leaders       Guide and registered their AVENUE groups. Once you’ve done both, you’ll receive your log-in permission.
