Why Groups?

Any experienced hiker will tell you that you should never head out alone, especially if you are unfamiliar with the trails. We have all heard the stories of people who went off for a short hike, and didn’t return. Their only hope was for a team of people equipped to help, to come looking for them and bring them back to safety. We have learned one important lesson that cannot be overemphasized: having others to share your difficulties will make all the difference in helping you make wise decisions and end up in a healthier place. Whether or not your marriage or significant relationship will be restored, more than anything else, you need the fellowship of a few others to listen to you, encourage you with God’s hope for your future, pray and walk with you. You will gain wisdom from the guidance of others who have already experienced this part of the journey.
The benefits of walking with others as you heal are inexhaustible. Others will become a mirror for you. As you listen to their stories, you will see your own situation with more objectivity. You will find a broader perspective of the common issues. You will experience a healthy bond, friendship, and supportive relationships few can match.

Is there any such thing as Christians cheering each other up? Do you love me enough to want to help me? Does it mean anything to you that we are in the Lord, sharing the same Spirit? Are your hearts tender and sympathetic at all? Then make me truly happy by loving each other and agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, working together with one heart and mind and purpose. Phil 2:1-2 (TLB)
